Spain and the Canary Islands offer some of the most attractive sub-tropical locations in the world, each has much to offer the holiday maker, long stay traveller or even those who are looking to re-locate to a sunnier climate.

Tenerife    ....Known as the Island of Eternal Spring, and it’s not hard to figure out why. It has a perfect year-round climate, is bathed in almost continuous sunshine and possesses a natural beauty that stuns even the most seasoned traveler. The diverse landscapes of the island are a sight to behold. Long sandy beaches span the coastal resorts, followed by rising mountains covered in pine forests which give way to the spectacular lunar landscapes of Las Cañadas and imposing peak of Mount Teide. Aside from its natural beauty, Tenerife is a cosmopolitan island with a large number of visitors from throughout Europe, making it very accessible to the British traveler or migrant. Below we provide a brief synopsis of some of the more popular destinations.

Gran Canaria    ....The island with the greatest variety of climatic conditions in the archipelago. Contrary to popular belief, even in summer, the island is not a steamy hotbed of unbearable temperatures. Cold sea currents from the Gulf of Mexico have a tempering effect on the summer months. Combined with the trade winds from the Azores, the average temperatures vary between 18 and 25 degrees C. In short, Gran Canaria's climate follows the same seasonal rhythm of the Mediterranean with short, cool and wet winters, and summers that are long, warm and dry.

Lanzarote    ....Closer to Africa than Spain ; drier than parts of the Sahara ; ecologically friendly; and a visitors delight. These are just some of the assets of Lanzarote, the archipelago's most easterly island. Another title, Land of 100 Volcanoes , understates the influence nature has had in sculpting this fascinating island. There are actually 300 volcanoes, some still bubbling quietly, some snuffed out. The largest and most visible, Fire Mountain , lies at the heart of the island. It's historical fury, though terrifying at the time of its major eruption back in 1730, has left a legacy of landscapes sublimely tinted red and shadowed by eerie basalt formations.

Fuerteventura    ....With virtually the same climate as Florida and Mexico, Fuerteventura is like an all over tonic where you can't help but feel the stresses and strains of a North European winter disappearing over the horizon with the setting sun. For clouds and rain imagine a seamless stretch of sapphire blue with 360 days of sunshine per year; for the fumes of traffic torment think clean ocean breeze from a coastline never far away; for industrial hi-rise cities picture sugar cube villages and tiny fishing hamlets. It's not hard to understand why the local Majoreros (inhabitants of Fuerteventura) are welcoming so many second home-owners and new residents. We at Horizon have had many enquiries about this new area in the Canary Islands and will soon be opening offices in Corralejo and Antigua from where we’ll be able to offer you some of the very best property on the island.

Costa Blanca     ....Something is happening on Spain's southeastern seaboard, the White Coast, or Costa Blanca is currently undergoing a miraculous style makeover. No longer considered the poor relation of Spain's resort area, more property seekers are rushing to this rugged stretch of shoreline in search of exceptional value for money. From Denia in the north, down to Torrevieja in the south, vast amounts of funding are being spent to attract investors not just from the UK but also from many other parts of Western Europe. Although the younger money has always tended to head to the south of the Costa Blanca, where property prices are slightly lower, the gap is narrowing, a sign that investment potential in the north is gaining momentum in line with government spending.

Costa Del Sol     ....The main attraction of the Costa del Sol (as its name suggests) is the sun, this is made even more attractive by the miles of high quality, sandy Mediterranean beaches and excellent facilities for the traveler.
